Some common causes for headaches can be dehydration, concussions, or genetics. One Chinese man had a rare case of a headache caused by having 3 nails stuck in his head.

A 69-year-old Chinese man from the Fujian province was taken to the hospital after authorities found 3 4-inch nails in the man’s head. He was insistent that nobody called the police because he had hammered in the nail by himself.

Late last year, doctors performed the procedure to remove the nails. After three months post surgery, they have discharged the man having reportedly fully recovered.

The severity of the injury makes doctors suspect someone else committed this act on the man. How does one self-inflict that kind of injury anyways?
