Chinese soldiers train by running topless in the snow
I don't know about you, but I'm freezing just looking at these pictures, so I can't even begin to imagine how insanely cold these Chinese soldiers must have been during their shirtless training sessions in the snow. The pictures of the exercises were taken in Heihe, China, where temperatures got as cold as minus 20 degrees Celsius.
The young men are members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and the soldiers trained in the harsh weather as a way to improve their endurance. Some of the activities included dunking their heads in the snow, taking shirtless snow "baths," and crawling around on the ice.
The soldiers were also taught sabre play, which is a balancing discipline, also in extremely snowy conditions. You have to hand it to them for being able to endure the freezing temperatures, and I just hope that these guys are currently under a lot of blankets somewhere.
