Thor: The Dark World is being released on November 8th, and a Chinese movie theater in Shanghai has chosen to promote it with a unique poster. It looks like they created the poster from a fan-made image that pairs superhero Thor (Chris Hemsworth) with an unexpected romantic partner.

Instead of the protective pose of Thor back-hugging his love interest, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), we see him hugging his villainous brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). A Chinese microblogger posted this fan-made image, and somehow it ended up being used as the theater poster.


The Shanghai theater has pulled the poster and apologized, but we can't help but wonder if some fans would actually prefer this version of the superhero movie that focuses on bromance instead of romance. Once this poster went viral, some internet users commented that there is more chemistry between the actors Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston than between Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman anyway.
