Chun Jung Myung, Gong Seung Yeon, Jo Jae Hyun, Jung Yumi, and more start filming Master: God of Noodles
Upcoming KBS series Master: God of Noodles is kicking into high gear. Cast members Chun Jung Myung, Gong Seung Yeon, Jo Jae Hyun, Jung Yumi, and Lee Sang Yeob all gathered for a script reading last week, and they just released some shots from an initial poster photoshoot as well.
Lest the title deceive you, this one sounds like a revenge drama, where Moo Myung (Chun Jung Myung) is a young man with a sense of absolute taste. After he suffers a betrayal, he enters an orphanage and takes on a new identity as he spends years preparing for revenge. For some reason, undergoing fierce training and honing his natural talents to become a "God of Noodles" is a major part of his revenge plan.
Jo Jae Hyun will play the villain in the series, another "God of Noodles" who grew up in poor and desperate circumstances. He steals Moo Myung's identity (even though they're clearly not at all the same age, but whatever) in order to change his fate, and he becomes cold and harsh in order to survive in a tough world. I guess if Moo Myung has his identity stolen by a noodle god, that kind of explains the whole new-identity-must-become-noodle-master revenge thing our hero has going on. B1A4's Baro will play the younger version of Jo Jae Hyun's character.
As our female leads, Gong Seung Yeon and Jung Yumi are both coming off of their success in Six Flying Dragons. Gong Seung Yeon is set to play Kim Da Hee, a bright, tomboyish young woman with an absolute sense of smell. Jung Yumi will play Chae Yeo Kyung, whose difficult upbringing gives her a tough exterior that covers a warm heart.
Rounding out the cast is Lee Sang Yeob, whom you may recognize from Bluebird's House, Nice Guy, or, most recently, as that terrifying and horribly sad serial killer on Signal. In this series, he'll play Park Tae Ha, whose tragic past is connected to both Moo Myung and Chae Yeo Kyung. Sad pasts for everyone!
Whew, what a plot! Master: God of Noodles is currently set to air on KBS on April 20, following the conclusion of Descendants of the Sun. What do you think of this one? Will you be watching?
