Colorized photos of samurai give a glimpse into the past
Sometimes, when looking at black and white photos of the past, it can be hard to imagine what things and people really looked like. But with some photo editing, even 200 year old photos can come to life.
What I love about looking at photos of prior generations are the expressions and looks on the faces of people from way back when. They literally look like they could be alive today, young and walking down the street with iPhone in hand. The samurai in the photos below are the real deal. Taken over 200 years ago, they've recently been colorized, adding another layer of reality to an already fascinating look into the world of the Japanese warrior class.
I'd love to go to a movie theater with these guys, give them some popcorn, and watch Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai with them and see how they react.
What you lookin at?
I don't know, but guy on his knees looks like he's in trouble.
