Comedienne Kim Shin Young reveals how many times her high school crush turned her down for a date
Giving up is not in Kim Shin Young's vocabulary. Today, the lovable comedienne shared a heartbreaking story from her adolescence that brings tears to your eyes. On FM4U's Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope radio program, a listener asked about advice concerning a crush. The 31-year-old DJ revealed that she asked out a guy she liked in high school nearly a dozen times and he still said no.
"There's a saying that says that no tree won't fall after hacking at it 10 times. In high school, I was turned down 11 times after asking my crush 11 times," she explained.
"I thought it would work if I confessed my feelings. I said, 'Date me,' and he replied, 'I don't want to.' I said, 'Okay,' and cried when I got home. The next day I asked for a date again and repeated the process. My friend even advised me to write a love letter in a notebook... If you try 11 times, and it doesn't work, it's probably not going to work."
I'll bet he is kicking himself for turning her down now! She is star that brings joy to so many, and their life together could have been just as joyous if he gave her a chance. Would you have been as forgiving as Kim with your school crush?
