Cute or creepy? See a collection of handmade cat bags that true cat lovers would carry
I've always been one to say if there's something you really want but can't buy, if there's any creativity in you, then make it yourself. Japanese cat-lover and housewife Miho (猫製作pico) has done exactly that and gained herself a bunch of fans on Twitter to boot. Her stuffed cat toys and bags are painstakingly handmade and ridiculously adorable.
If you're not careful, you might find yourself petting one by mistake.
Woman's got skills: Her plush three-color cat bag originally started out as a simple white kitty. Folks retweeted it a lot. When she airbrushed it with acrylic paint to add a Calico-like coloring, the likes and retweets exploded.
The talented crafter has sold some of her handmade kitty bags on an online auction site. This cute charcoal gray number went for $550. USD on Yahoo! Auction Japan. Yes, a buyer actually bid that amount!
Her three-color Calico cat (above) went for $700. USD. My goodness!
I have to admit, when I first saw how realistic these bags look, the first thing that popped into my head was taxidermy, which kinda creeped me out. But rest assured, no cats were harmed in the making of these products. They are not nor were they ever real animals.
Nothing to see here but imitations, folks. She's just that good! :)
These bags are only for sale to residents in Japan at this time. You might want to keep an eye on her, though. You never know when she might change her mind and give the rest of us out here a chance to bid on her cute creations.
Are you cat lover enough to carry a purse like this? (I'm stuck straddling the fence on this one.) Does it strike you as cute, or creepy?
