Dentist Creates Vampire-Toothed Girl Group in Japan
The dentist behind Japan's "tseuke-yaeba" ("snaggletooth") cosmetic surgery trend has formed an all-girl pop group made up of girls with crooked teeth. The band's name, TYB48, refers both to tseuke yaba and the Jpop group AKB48. The vampire-toothed group's first album is titled "Mind If I Bite?," is being promoted by the group's creator, Taro Masuoka. Masuoka is the proprietor of the Tokyo's Pure Cure dental salon, and pioneered a method of turning straight teeth crooked. He consideres the look a sign of "impish beauty," making his patients "endearingly attractive".
