Where have we seen him or her before? Strong character actors are in demand to help make a good drama even better. It also means that sharp-eyed viewers may catch these actors in interesting and contrasting roles. Have you noticed some of them in current K-dramas such as Ruler: Master Of The MaskMy Sassy Girl, and Love in Trouble?

1. Yoon So Hee has really shined as Kim Hwa Goon, the chief villain's granddaughter in Ruler: Master Of The Mask. Her character's growth from a selfish, ambitious schemer to a fearless woman who will do the right thing is convincing and poignant. But, did you know she played the titular lead in Bong Soon - a Cyborg in Love as an android who fell in love?

2. Kim Min Joon appeared in an impressive cameo as Prince Chuseong in the opening episode of My Sassy Girl. His unmistakable presence gave a powerful back story for the drama. The handsome hunk is equally comfortable playing a villain or a romantic leading man. One of his memorable roles was in Damo as the mysterious warrior who didn't know Ha Ji Won was his long-lost sister.

3. Park Solomon seems too young to be included as a character actor, but without his effective portrayal of the simultaneously sweet and vicious Yoon Shi Wan, Lookout would lose a necessary impetus right from the beginning. He also played the teenage version of Kim Rae Won in the romantic drama, Doctor Crush, in 2016.

4. Lee Duk Hwa is currently having fun as the grandfather in The Best Hit and a foul-tempered lawyer in Love in Trouble. This is not the first time that viewers can see the respected veteran actor doing double duty. He has a distinctive voice, too.

This last one will really surprise you!

5. Yoo Jae Myung plays the ruthless Chief Prosecutor with lots of secrets in Stranger (aka Secret Forest). But, do you recognize him as Strong Woman Do Bong Soon's father who enjoyed working at the bakery?
