Doctor tries the unthinkable to save man's severed hand
What looks like something you would see in a haunted house is actually a medical miracle. A doctor in China was able to save a man's hand by temporarily attaching it to his calf.
Xie Wei was working at a family workshop when he accidentally severed his hand. Wei initially went to a nearby hospital and they told him that they were not able to help him, but luckily he found a hospital two hours away that immediately treated his gruesome injury.
The doctor who saved Wei's hand was Dr. Tang Juyu, who thought that the best course of action to save the worker's hand was to attach it to his calf while his arm healed. Tang had performed a similar operation in 2004 where he attached a patient's hand to their belly. Wei has now had his hand re-attached and is currently recovering at home.
