Doctors remove fully grown dandelion from baby's ear
Doctors in Beijing were forced to act quickly after discovering a 2cm grown dandelion in a 16 month-old baby's ear. The parents of the baby girl, named Ranran, took their daughter to the doctor's after her repeated crying and pain. Her mother noticed the problem when she saw her baby scratching her ear.
They believe that the seed fell into their daughter's ear roughly four months ago. Fortunately, after a 10-minute surgery, the fully formed dandelion was successfully removed. Doctors believe it was able to grow inside of her ear canal because of the damp and humid conditions. Gu Qinglong, the hospital's chief physician of otolaryngology said, "Even the slightest bit of pressure put her at risk for internal bleeding so it had to come out." Ranran is said to be recovering from the surgery.
