[caption id="attachment_23597" align="alignleft" width="371" caption="Won Bin"][/caption] With MBC reaching an agreement with the cast and crew of Dong Yi and other dramas just this morning, the hit sageuk is racing against the clock to film and edit an hour of drama for tonight's broadcast. Taping was scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM, for the 10:00 timeslot. Footage shot this afternoon will be transmitted by satellite to editing booths, where "real-time editing" will hopefully produce a coherent episode 49. Other dramas affected (not quite as dramatically) by the halt in production include Gloria, Kim Soo Ro and Playful Kiss. Jang Geun Suk revealed his precise height and weight, teasingly ending speculation about whether he's 172 cm tall, 182 cm tall, or somewhere in between. The exact answer awaits you. This is a first: two Korean television dramas may be remade for American TV. Kapital Entertainment, which so far has an impressive track record for selling shows to networks, has purchased the rights to a couple of Uhm Tae Woong's mid-2000s crime dramas: Rebirth (aka Resurrection) and Lucifer (The Devil/Ma Wang). Kapital CEO Aaron Kaplan says the plan is to tighten up the first few episodes of Rebirth to jumpstart the story for American audiences. It's WAR between Lee Hyori and Won Bin, as starting today the two stars will be selling two competing brands of rice cooker. Have a look--the Cuchen model definitely looks cooler, but how could you not want to own something called "Won Bin's Cuckoo Pink Rose"? Baker King Kim Tak Gu has its sites set on the 50% ratings prize, as it remained the top-rated drama for the 10th week in a row. Dong Yi grabbed the second spot for the week, with around 30%. Playful Kiss and Sungkyunkwan Scandal, both of which drew horrendous ratings in their first run, showed signs of life in reruns, with Kiss reaching a (still disappointing) 6.6%. All of this probably has much more to do with timeslot games and the different ways audiences watch dramas now than the quality of the shows--Playful Kiss has received positive responses from online viewers. However, producers downplayed expectations that Kiss will turn into a hit, since Rain's presumed hit Runaway will premier right after the conclusion of Baker King. And finally, did you know that SNSD's Gee contains language so filthy that we can't even print it? If you play it backwards... and slow it down 80%... actually the reason we can't print it is because we don't know what this guy is talking about.
