Watch episode 16:

Taleena: OK, I don’t like to feed Firnlambe’s Star Wars obsession too much, but I can’t help but see the parallels in this episode. 1) Dr. E was clearly pitching Ji Sang with the “give into your hate” speech from Jedi in the beginning. 2) Obviously the Rebel Plans for the infected cure are hidden in PervBot a la R2D2. Amiright?!

Firnlambe: (¬‿¬) you can’t deny Awesome when it tries it’s best to infiltrate every facet of the entertainment industry. I have no control of this . . . I just like to keep Star Wars fresh in everyone's mind.

Wendilynn: I find it hilarious that you call this Firnlambe’s obsession, yet you are the first to make the connection, Taleena. hehehe. I also started laughing when I realized that Pervbot had to be a line of defense. However, I had to realize that later because I was too busy yelling, “no no no no no no no” as the last five minutes of this episode played out.

Taleena: *fingers crossed* Please Oh Please! I want Rita to retrieve the plans from PervBot with her hair up in the “Princess Leia” towel. I just neeeeeeeed it. Photoshop Opportunity!

Firnlambe: Ooo Ooo Ooo!!! They can have a secret meet up in a public bath to swap the super secret plans . . . . EVERYONE wears the Leia towels in those places.

Wendilynn: I don’t care what they are wearing as long as Renfield shows up. That was seriously bad mojo. They are not allowed to touch Renfield. *cries*

Taleena: ALL is proceeding as I have foreseen - Red Shirts EVERYWHERE. I can’t believe just hours ago I predicted a mass assault from Hoodie Army and LO! They attack.

Firnlambe: Plus! Vampire no Sleep has clearly jumped sides . . . her soul is not yet lost!! As soon as Dr. Lenscrafter broke rank and placed drugs inside her “sister” I knew she’d come around.

Wendilynn: Yeah, I don’t think any of us are surprised that an attack on Ji Sang’s home happened. I just expected the defenses to be better. As for Vampire No Sleep, as soon as Dr Evil was willing to ignore his human side and her requests, he lost her.

Taleena: As important as all of these things are, we have seen them coming. Let’s talk about the new development - HR Auntie has SheMinion’s black box. GO HR Auntie! (Yes, I know she killed Rita’s parents, at this point I want her to take out Dr. Lenscrafter whilst trying to take our Dr. E.)

Firnlambe: Honestly in my mind when I think about who killed who . . . I place the blame on Uncle Chairman. HR Auntie was only following orders. It still doesn't excuse her by any means--but it makes it seem a little less of her fault.

Wendilynn: Honestly, I don’t care who killed Rita’s parents at this point. That’s not a compelling story line for me. I’m more concerned on who is going to take Dr. E and his psycho minion down. I was surprised that the blackbox chip was not replaced or cleaned? This isn’t their first rodeo, they’ve killed before. It seems sort of sloppy on Hoodie minions part.

Taleena: Well, to be fair Hoodie Guy has been Very Conflicted lately. I care who killed Rita’s parents if for no other reason that Rita will care. I guess though they are addressing the betrayal of RIta by the whole Brain Tumor storyline. I liked that Rita got a very CLEAR understanding of where their priorities are - especially Uncle. She leaned hard into truth and I really appreciated that.

Firnlambe: I was so mad at Uncle for thinking Rita is only concerned about the Hospital. He clearly does not understand what is important to her. Which makes me have some serious feels towards Rita. Something I’d NEVER thought I would say during this drama.

Wendilynn: I’ve liked Rita for awhile. She has her priorities in the right place. HR Auntie and Uncle definitely screwed up in making her understand that she is not their priority. And for him to think all she cares about is her position in the hospital really was not good. The devastated look on her face was sad. Ji Sang did a great job in comforting her, though.

Taleena: Props to the show, because I totally believed the Kiss. I have not felt a great deal of their romance, but by the time it came to the kiss I bought it. I admit - I had the feels. It wasn’t the hottest K kiss I’ve seen, but it was tender and both parties seemed invested. *slow clap*

Firnlambe: I . . . shall invoke the wrath of our readers ┬┴┬┴┤(・_├┬┴┬┴ I was not impressed by the kiss. //dodges pots, pans and other random objects// It felt--not forced--but it was very off in my eyes. Yes it was tender and obviously both parties were invested in it, but yeah . . it just seemed off (yes that is the best word I can come up with for how I feel about this kiss)

Wendilynn: *picks up a baseball bat* No, I wouldn’t hurt you, but I do have to disagree with you. The romance in this show has been very low key. Something I’ve actually enjoyed. And I felt this kiss was perfect for the scene. They both had a chance to confess, to comfort, to care and then that kiss was very moving for me. I loved that the three hours they spent filming that kiss paid off. I loved that both parties were moving their lips and looked like they were enjoying each other.

Taleena: I will say: I got the giggles when it cut to Dr. the Younger staring at his screen in stunned silence, then calling BFF over to look. In my mind he was shocked to see them kissing on his security cam feed. Well played show.

Firnlambe: I thought the same thing, to be honest. I love it when the writers know how to manipulate things in this way.

Wendilynn: I thought it was also a great segue. Does anyone else find it interesting that both sides are finding that VTH-16, aka the vampire death virus, is probably going to provide the potential solution to both side’s problems?

Taleena: Yes. AND they are going to do it with the help of the Miracle Plant prophesied yea these many episodes ago. OK, it’s a South American plant and not one found on the Wilds of Jeju, but schnikies! I was close.

Firnlambe: Taleena’s Big Book of Theories strikes back!--wait--again!! I mean again . . . . . yes I twisted it into a mini Star Wars reference. I regret nothing.

Taleena: Well at least they are not trying to harvest the flowers from the Cloud City of Bespin. OK, I’m done. Wait. You know when Vampire No Sleep was angry at Dr. E. I wanted to say, “Pray, I don’t alter our deal further.” Ok. NOW I’m done. OMO! She’s Lando Calrissian! I’m stopping, I’m stopping . . .

Firnlambe: Ok so we’ve set almost everyone up with a Star Wars character--now I’m going to be actively looking for the missing C3-PO, Han and Chewbacca pairings . . . . . but seriously I really hope VnS is able to survive whatever evil plot Dr. Lenscrafter has planned for her. Because you know he has to have something, particularly since he knew how much Smack Talk meant to her.

Taleena: Ya know, Dr. LensCrafter really thinks he is better than Dr. E. Dr. E. may just be rolling with the punches at this point re: Smack Talk because he has no choice. I get the feeling that Dr. LensCrafter is the Touched in the Head Uncle that is usually kept up in the attics. He is more about the Master Race than Dr. E. is.

Firnlambe: I agree . . . plus he made that subtle threat once upon a time of “You don’t know who I really am”. Which to me means he’s hiding something that is a major game changer.

Taleena: Four episodes left? Could it be he is Ji Sang’s twin brother? Let’s see . . . what else? Secret shareholder in the Taemin group? Winner of Mr. Universe?! Can play an ocarina? It could be anything. My vote? He is Dr. E’s separated at birth brother. Make it happen show!

Wendilynn: My money is on Psycho Lenscrafters being somehow a more real vampire than the others who were infected to prevent death and became minions. IT would stand to reason that there were some vampires hiding out that perhaps Dr. E had run into. I don’t want to go so far as to say he’s another born vampire because Dr. E made it pretty clear that Ji Sang is unique in that regard. But I'm betting Psycho has been a vampire a loooooong time.

Firnlambe: I’m thinking he may be the closest thing to a “pure” infected as well, it would explain why he thinks he’s so much more entitled than the rest of the Hoodie Brigade and the now infected Ward 21A.

Taleena: Well, the Guinea Pig ward are barely hanging on to themselves. The Bitey Rage is close to the surface with that lot. How we have gotten this far without any of them having a Bloody Mary O Positive is beyond me.

Firnlambe: (¬_¬) . . . . dare I say it? //whispers// it’s the Joseon black magic--it’s a thing I tell you!

Taleena: We should never have let you watch Night Watchman’s Journal. Sexy Blacksmith be darned!

Firnlambe: ╮(╯▽╰)╭ waaaaaht? You’re all thinking it . . . I’m just saying it.

Well Daywalkers, how do you feel about these new developments? Will Renfield survive? Does Vampire no Sleep even stand a ghost of a chance at surviving after her sudden yet inevitable betrayal? Just when will Dr. Lenscrafter finally blow his top and fully go crazy down in Guinea Pig Ward 21A? Let us know in the comments below and we'll see you in episode 17.
