[Cue Opening Song]

How does one screenshot? I haz no idea >.<[/caption]
For me, opening songs are one of first things I judge dramas on. (Obviously, since they’re the first things you hear when you watch a show). I personally was not that impressed with the song in the very beginning. I think it was because I wanted the song and the show to be perfect since I was dragging my Caucasian-never-really-watches-dramas roommate into watching this show with me. The beginning of the song was ok, kinda wished it was over, but towards the end, it definitely grew on me. The introduction did not give away a lot about the drama, it just placed the male and female protagonists in various scenes such as getting read, walking around and staring slyly at each other while various colored dots flashed upon their clothing.
From the first episode, it is pretty obvious that this show is far from a serious romance and is totally gonna go down the silly, cliché path but instead of being like *heavy sigh
* I found myself slowly getting sucked into the story and hooked. Dramas like these just make me wish I could fall through the screen and live their lives. Seriously, this girl can go from looking like drunken crap:

I don't think I feel too good[/caption]
And then go back to her normal perky self after one puke? GIVE ME YOUR SECRET PLEASE!

Haha. As if I would teach you my ways...[/caption]
As the episode progresses you’re introduced to all sorts of parental tropes.
You’ve got the stern, loving yet silly mother.
You’ve got the strict, stoic yet loving father
You’ve got the silly, sweet yet dark pasted father
And OMG it’s my favorite grandmother from Fated To Love You!
I always love the silly, happy grandmothery characters. They make me so happy ^^
I love how there is the whole gangster element into the drama. I wish it could be more intense though because the whole gangster thing is played off as a joke since they are lining up as gangsters still but they aren’t in that line of work anymore, but I wish that it could be more serious. It would be a good contrast to the silly and cute atmosphere of the entire drama. I want there to be more darkness than the complete silly/sassy side that is shown. Even the fight towards the end felt pretty watered down and ubber dramatized. But I guess that’s just how all dramas are. (Confession time: I haven’t watched a drama in ages so I’m slowly getting myself reacquainted with the whole dramatic ambience)
I do love the family dynamics that are presented in this show. I’m glad that there is (so far) not a lot of drama and tension surrounding the various family members. They all seem to love and care for each other very much. Even though Zhou Zhen does get angry at his sister a lot it is obvious that he is only doing it because of his older brother status and that he just cares for her. I also love how much he obviously cares and protects his grandmother. I do fall for guys that care a lot about their family members. Haha. Just FYI.
So far the only super dramatic thing is the whole mystery about Xiao Shu’s younger brother and how he passed away and what that guy has to do with it. I’m actually super intrigued especially since there is not that much drama surrounding the entire show.
I am also totally in love with her coworkers. They are super cute! I was really excited when I saw MC 40 in the show because I really like Da Mouth and I think he and the other girl have really cute banter and interactions.
I thought the call between Xiao Shi and Zhou Zhen’s father was funny but also a little frustrating. I think that the reason Xiao Shi hates gangsters and hoodlums so much is because of what happened to her brother but she’s still being really rude about it all and it actually hurt me to see the sadness in Zhou Zhen’s eyes when she told him blatantly how much she hated gangsters.
So, as you might be able to tell from this post, I am super bad with names, but I am seriously in love with the new character:
He’s so adorakable <3
And I want him and Ying Ying to get together even though she was being pretty insufferable and annoying but I am sure they will balance each other out and make a happy story.
Of course they will both be at the same karaoke place. Gahh. They’re so fated. Two heartbroken people finding solace in each other. I am totally happy with this couple!
Ack. This scene was so sad. I was just like, “OMG Zhou Zhen go and comfort her.”
And he did…well…kind of…
I love how they basically become this like Bonnie and Clyde pair at the end of every episode, like let’s just mess up Xiao Shi’s ex-boyfriend’s day because we can. Muahahaha. And I just love how bored Zhou Zhen is whilst performing illegal acts of vandalism.
And that fight scene, I was totally wait for him to bring out some like sexy awesome fighting techniques and he did but he got beaten up which I was actually surprised about and was like “ohnoohnoohshitohshitohnoohno” And then Xiao Shi had to say the thing that broke his heart.
Noo. Right in the kokoro.
