gif credit: 7 (because it's July, I guess) Reasons to watch Love Around 1. George Hu and Annie Chen's amazing chemistry In the first couple of episodes of this drama I didn't quite get what all of the fuss was about with these two as a couple. I already knew that George Hu is great because he blew me away opposie Gui Gui in Summer Fever, but I had never seen Love, Now and had only heard of their legendary chemistry. In just a few epsiodes, though, I am now convinced that these two should be together in real life too. They look great together and interact with such ease and mutual adoration that I can't help but fall in love with this couple. 2. A break from slow, depressing dramas Sometimes after watching a few melodramatic or generally sad dramas can cause a person to become moody. I know that it can bring me down. So, watching a happy, energetic, and fast-paced drama like this is a great way to bring your spirits up. 3. MC 40 MC 40 is hilarious as James, the flamboyant DJ that works at Sound of Asia with Xiao Shu. His physicality, one-liners, and general goofiness never fail to make me giggle. 4. The Zhou Family lovearound4th Even though Zhou Zhen comes from a family that was involved in the gangster world, his family is just like any other. His dad is silly and immature, his sister is a spoiled troublemaker, and his grandma just wants to play games on her tablet. Like Zombie Mamma mentioned in her post, they are not a typical drama family that is ridden with anger, guilt, and deception. 5. Great music As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I love how Mandarin Chinese sounds when put to music. I know pretty much nothing about the language, but when Bii sings "Come Back to Me" I know exactly what he's saying. 6. The side characters I already mentioned James and the Zhou family, but the ladies who work at the Sound of Asia are cute as well. I think everyone wants to work there. Also, isn't Zhou Zhen's assistant Fei Li cute? He doesn't get a lot of screen time, but don't think I don't notice you, boo. 7. Fresh take on an old story lovearoundep4pic3 The plot of a rich guy helping a not-so-rich girl is basic, however, this drama offers some different perspectives. For example, the main leads had a rough start when they met, but they never hated each other. Yes, I love a good hate turns to love relationship, but it's also nice to watch a friendship grow steadily into romance. I also noticed that, unlike other dramas, both leads are very reasonable people. They are both working hard, have fairly friendly relationships with their families, and they aren't jaded from an overly tragic past of death and birth secrets. Yes, they have their skeletons and sad stories, but there are few and they aren't overwhelming their personalities. More from the LOVE AROUND Drama Club!
