DRAMA CLUB: Marry Him If You Dare Episodes 1-2 (1/2)
Hey there all my fellow Drama Clubbers! It's me, Zombie Mamma, here along with Tanya and Martina to take you through the next sixteen episodes of what has to be my most anticipated show of the year, Marry Him If You Dare! Are you ready? Then let's go!
Before we dive into this week's episodes, I should probably warn you now that I'm a HUGE fan of both Yoon Eun Hye and Jung Yong Hwa so I may spend an inordinate amount of time squealing and swooning over the next several weeks so bear with me...or join me...as we dig into Marry Him If You Dare together.
There's so much about these first two episodes that I like: the time travel, the schemes of a crazy woman, the desperate attempt to change your fate...they're all great, but it's the characters, namely Mi Rae herself, that I absolutely love. Two episodes in and I'm already wishing I could be her best friend, partially because she reminds me of Lorelei Gilmore but beyond that, she's just too cute. There's something about her particular combination of desperation and spunk that makes her irresistible and I'm not the only one to notice as evidenced by the fact that Park Se Joo has fallen for her before the end of episode one. (And yes, I’m choosing to believe he’s fallen for her on her personality alone and not because he watched her skinny dipping. O_o)
Oh Park Se Joo! If ever a guy looked at me the way he looked at Mi Rae when asked if he'd ever fallen in love, I'd melt in an instant. *swoon!* Once again Jung Yong Hwa has managed to land a role that's instantly captured my heart. With his sweet temper, honest heart and devastating good looks how could you not fall for Park Se Joo? The question is, how long will it take for Mi Rae to fall completely head-over-heels for him? I'm hoping it won't take long because I'm ready to ship them now.
That being said, I can't shake the feeling things aren't going to play out between them the way I'd like. Maybe it's because I've watched one too many K-dramas or maybe it's because I've still got the sadly overlooked Kang Shin Woo embedded in my brain, but I can't get the thought of Mi Rae ending up with the jerk Kim Shin by the end. No matter how awesome Kim Shin’s Clark Kent hair is, I don't want see Mi Rae with anyone other than Se Joo. What worries me is that Future Mi Rae warned her younger self of what could happen when she said, "A bad fate is still fate...if you're meant to meet him, you'll meet him no matter what." My question is, just because they meet, are they destined to be together? I’m really hoping that’s not the case, mostly because I don’t think my poor heart can watch Yong Hwa’s character be passed over for a jerk…again. *sniff*
So what are your thoughts of Marry Him If You Dare? Are you enjoying it as much as I am or am I just suffering from serious fan-girl delusions of this show's greatness? Do you think this down-and-out girl can really change her stars or do you think Future Mi Rae's meddling will only make things worse? What about Future Mi Rae's warning about the death of a loved one? Is it really Mi Rae's brother or someone else? Share your thoughts in the comments below and let’s chat!
