It’s All Smiles and Laughter after a smoothly run kidnapping operation

Amy: I don’t even know what to say about all of this nonsense. I get that they want to be with their grandson but as I said in the last recap, to take him without knowing for sure and without his mother’s permission is not something I can forgive. I think that everyone in this drama has gone about their lives wrong. Ki Young shouldn’t have kept Dan away, all of them should have used their words, and Myung Yi should never have gotten involved with them.

Jazmine: This is beyond crazy. This family must bathe in crazy, and Myung Yi too now bathes in that crazy even more than before. I don’t see how anyone could just stand by idly as a woman loses her child. It baffles me. Poor Dan. Also, I cried way too much this episode. Every time Dan was on screen crying and missing his mother tears were streaming down my face. How could they all be so selfish when they see that Dan is hurting so much. I’d also like to point out that even though Sun Nyeo was so against, she sure didn’t rush to say anything to Ki Young or the police.

Taleena: I have come to think that this entire drama is not actually trying to portray real life, but is in fact some crazy fever dream Ki Young is having. When she saw that baby in the elevator at the very beginning of the show? She wasn't feeling great, went home sick and this is the result of her 'flu sleep. In the beginning the characters were somewhat loathsome but not out of the realm of realism. Now? I have a hard time believing that a browbeaten maid in the Park house would rat out a kidnapping on the down low, or that some tangental third party wouldn’t want to leak a juicy story to the tabloids for a little extra scratch. We have gotten to the point where someone (metaphorically) strokes a white cat and (literally) says, “No Ki Young, I expect you to die!” just like a Bond Villain.

Marking the Moment when Tae Yeon becomes his father

Taleena: I was not even aware I was holding out hope that Tae Yeon might turn a leaf and break away from his dysfunctional ways, until it was completely crushed in this episode. It is NOT love that delights in hurt inflicted on others. He does not feel love - only possessiveness and wounded pride. He wants Dan only to hurt Ki Young and as a reflection of himself.

Amy: Oh Tae Yeon. I understand that he is hurt but he is so selfish I have trouble feeling sorry for him. He just wants to make himself feel better and doesn’t even think about Dan. Sigh.

Jazmine: Taleena, I also had hopes that Tae Yeon might have learned something like sympathy during his three year time of pain but no. Tae Yeon washed his hair and quickly reverted to that annoying a-hole who only seeks to hurt those who hurt him. He can’t sympathize or be the “bigger person”. Of course his moral compass is completely screwed living in a house with parents like his. And now I am completely convinced that Myung Yi and him are a perfect match. He married a woman who will kidnap a child for money and status. They’re a match made in heaven. Tae Yeon couldn’t actually feel love for Dan because Tae Yeon only loves himself.

Eun Cha puts together the pieces and has decisions to make

Jazmine: I like the fact that Eun Cha struggles so strongly with his morals. It’s entertaining because you want him to have a shred of human dignity (unlike Tae Yeon - I’m so done with him if you couldn’t tell) but in the end it’s also Eun Cha for Eun Cha. Or he makes the right decision a bit too late. Though I think deep down Eun Cha really wants to do what’s right...he just...can’t.

Taleena: Eun Cha has really become to me the pivot point of this whole show. Eun Cha is out for Eun Cha, but at what point will his cupidity be sated? If he can abandon his interests before a woman and her son are destroyed, then he will not be completely void of the milk of human kindness. Please Eun Cha, put your weaselly brain into a solution!

Amy: Eun Cha, just do the right thing! I wish he would stop being so selfish and just do what he knows is right! He clearly wants to so why does he deny himself?

Kramer Vs Kramer K Drama Style!

Taleena: I don’t know the ins and outs of family law in Korea, but I feel like Ki Young has a strong case: repeated text requests from Tae Yeon for her to get an abortion, marriage to someone else, signing a parental rights waiver, and a three year leave from the country at the baby’s birth. C’mon judge!

Amy: I have no idea what will happen with this case but I hope that it goes well. I just want everyone to grow up. I want Ki Young to have Dan but I also want Tae Yeon to freakin’ grow up so that he can see his child and build a relationship. I know he isn’t ready for that right now. Poor Dan. I can’t even imagine what all of this back and forth must be like for him.

Jazmine: I have a bad feeling about the case, but I really hope that Ki Young wins. I feel like the judge has been paid off by Tae Yeon’s father and that they’re going to dig into Ki Young’s employment situation and all that. I really can’t stand to see Ki Young crying any more over the loss of Dan. It seriously breaks my heart. I’m hoping she wins the case.

Well Drama Fans? Is Tae Yeon saveable? Do we care about Pedro and Restaurant Dude anymore? Who will win the custody battle? Is Papa Park going to die of a heart attack? Let us know in the comments.
