DramaFever Weekly Top 10 for August 31, 2015
Did you feel your heart skip a beat in the recent episodes of Yong Pal? The wonderful drama has risen to #3, seriously threatening the #1 Oh My Ghostess, which continues to charm our fans. I have no doubt, however, that courageous Dr. Joo Won will not only save Kim Tae Hee from her enemies but will also continue on to take the top spot. It has already taken Korean TV audience by storm and broke through to over 20% in ratings. And the latest news is that Yong Pal has been extended to 20 episodes.
I'm so enthralled by Lee Joon Ki in The Scholar Who Walks the Night. He is perfect as a man who struggles to balance what he needs to do to vanquish evil while trying to protect his new-found love. And, of course, he is the best-dressed character in this entire drama. I want to know who makes all the lovely, handsome costumes he's been wearing.
I caught up with Jasper Liu and Mandy Wei in the hot Taiwanese drama When I See You Again. The delightful romance drama is hovering right outside the Top 10 list and is the most popular Chinese language drama now. I'm also enjoying Lego Lee and his new romantic comedy in Love Cuisine. The drama really should be named High School Love Cuisine because it has delicious romance between culinary teachers in a high school where the students are also cute with their own budding romance.
In other news:
Master of Play starts on Thursday, September 3. It is a Hong Kong mystery drama series with a stellar ensemble cast led by Moses Chan and Adam Cheng, involving intricate intrigues between an actor and a magician over a kidnapping case. Lots of twists and turns guaranteed.
In Girls' Love Story, a new web drama series with short 10-minute episodes, four beautiful women find out they've been dating the same guy. See what these four fitness trainers, Yoo Seung Ok, Ye Jung Hwa, Han Eun Seo, and Oh Cho Hee, will do to revenge against their lousy ex-boyfriend. Also, the cast lists Shin Jae Ha, who previously played the young version of Lee Jong Suk's older brother in Pinocchio. Is he the 4-timer? This drama starts Thursday, September 3. I smell fun!

Twenty Again actually did really well. It is at #15, an excellent performance for a new drama that just started on Friday this past weekend. Originally I was more attracted by Lee Sang Yoon, but I have been pulled in by the back-to-school story. It's going to be fun to see Choi Ji Woo overcome all the obstacles to win a new chapter in life. Her cute son is also finding romance in college.
