DramaFever Weekly Top 10 for February 16 to February 22, 2015
A new show has leaped high into our Top 10 Most Watched Dramas in its first week of release. Find out if your favorite shows are still on the list.
How do you put medical doctors, vampires, and romance into one thrilling adventure with a sprinkling of comic relief? Just watch Blood. The new drama series stars Ahn Jae Hyun (My Love From Another Star) and Gu Hye Sun (Boys Over Flowers, Angel Eyes). I'm not usually into vampires but decided to watch the first episode just to see what it's about. Then I had to watch the second episode. Once the show got past the background story and foreign locations, it got really interesting, especially when Ji Jin Hee comes in with his magnetic charisma. Ahn Jae Hyun is looking cool as a first-time leading man. All in all, a solid beginning, and the audience agrees, as it has leaped into #6 on the Top 10 list.
Hyde, Jekyll, and I is firmly in the top 3, and the show is getting more exciting. Although Ha Na (Han Ji Min) doesn't know that Robin and Seo Jin are both Hyun Bin yet, we finally see who the bad guy really is. Sung Joon is perfect as a handsome villain. On the other hand, I'd love to see more of the circus, especially Bing, the giant gorilla who is just an adorable pet to Ha Na.
I'm running out of adjectives to describe the captivating Kill Me, Heal Me. Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum's chemistry was already well known from their prior collaboration on Secret, and it's even more intense in the new drama because of the unique topic. Watch how they planned and practiced to give us the most romantic 2-level kiss in episode 8.
Shine or Go Crazy continues to be a wonderful swashbuckling romance. Big revelations in last week's episode 9 and 10, but dangers continue to deepen for our hero and heroine. One of the dangers is actually Prince Wang So's current wife, who has realized her bumbling drunken fool of a husband is actually a strong man hiding his skills and intellect.
I also got caught up with Someone Like You. It is pure romance with some corporate intrigue. I love the female lead, Kirsten Ren. If you haven't seen the hilarious shower scene, at least read about it in our Drama Club's very fun recap. I assure you it is not the "traditional" shower scene where we simply admire the leading man's abs.
