Two hot new dramas started last week: Trot Lovers and The Joseon Gunman. I've been waiting for Ji Hyun Woo for 2 years ever since he went into the military service, and I can't wait to see him again. Lee Joon Ki is fantastic in The Joseon Gunman, and I hope he gets more kisses than in Arang and the Magistrate, one of my top favorite dramas. But first, I've found a new eye candy in Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup.

A mysterious Mr. Woo showed up in episode 23 of Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup. All of a sudden, I wished the show would be immediately extended back to 50 episodes. Where have they been hiding this secret weapon all along? Don't they know a secret weapon is not a weapon when it doesn't get used? Here's a long-distance shout-out to South Korea: Please give Mr. Woo his own love story so that we can get more of handsome actor Kang Ji Seob.

Wild Chives and Soybean Soup is a prime lesson that writers should be allowed to finish their story without an executive making decisions on a love story. Nevertheless, I wish to applaud the writer who has to condense the story on a quick notice and the valiant cast members who have to act convincingly even though everyone knows the end is coming very soon.

On the other hand, viewers have also been compelled to beg the drama team to extend a popular show. The result could mean extra dragging when we just want to get to the happy ending, and that's exactly what happened with Substitute Princess. The plus side of that was that the audience got what they wanted: Team Terry won! (Please watch Substitute Princess if you haven't, and you'll get what I'm talking about.)

Right now, I just hope that Doctor Stranger's writer is not forced to change Park Hoon's love interest. I like Dr. Oh, but she's too self-absorbed, and Park Hoon belongs with Jae Hee! I really got a bad feeling from the recent episode. Read about it HERE. I haven't been able to watch Triangle, but there is also an excellent recap HERE.
