Fan Bingbing is now the fourth highest-paid actress in the world, worth $21 million according to Forbes. The actress has huge earning power and has been courted by luxury brands to promote their goods to China's population of one billion.

This 33 year old's only Hollywood performance was as the character Blink (Clarice Ferguson) in X-Men: Days of Future Past. As a fashion icon, she puts everyone else to shame on the red carpet, like she did at the MET Gala this year. She was the only non-American to make the 2015 rankings compiled by Forbes magazine, which — for the first time ever — featured a truly global list of the biggest earning Hollywood actresses. Making an estimated $21 million, Fan Bing Bing ranked just behind Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlett Johansson, and Melissa McCarthy. She also ranked ahead of established American stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Angelina Jolie.

Although Fan is widely known around the world, she is a household name on the mainland, where she been working diligently in the entertainment industry since she was a teenager in the late 1990s. She has often described herself as a nu han zi, which means “tough girl” in English, because she claimed all of her burgeoning income has been earned as a result of her own hard work, rather than from being the mistress of rich men. Her strong work ethic has earned her the nickname of "Fan Ye" — the Chinese slang word of “Ye” describes a woman with masculine traits — among the general public because of her hectic schedule that combining movie making and endorsements.
