East of Eden's Han Ji Hye has been cast by CCTV producers to star in a new Chinese drama from renowned director Huang Jianzhong, known for his stories of strong women. Han is said to play an embroiderer looking for her lost mother in the 26-episode tale which is scheduled to air in November. New photos emerged from the set of Road No. 1, the high-profile Korean War epic starring So Ji Sub, Kim Ha Neul and Yoon Kye Sang. The drama is being filmed in Gyeonggi Province on a set said to be worth over $400,000. Hopes are that the drama will become such a popular phenomenon (which seems likely given the theme and the talent behind it) that the set will become a tourist destination. We reported earlier that Chuno star Lee Da Hae was in talks with Warner Bros. about upcoming projects, but I hope they have bigger things in mind for her than this! Yes, photos from the Hollywood party co-hosted by Warner Bros. and Vooz show her gamely posing with Vooz's character Pucca, which is being launched (by catapult, I presume) into the States. Vooz said--and I'm really hoping that this is not a direct quote--that "they sent a special invitation for Lee Da Hae because of her lively and Asian image that resembled Pucca." Okay... Jejoongwon's Park Yong Woo and Everybody Cha Cha Cha's Jo An have broken up after 2 years together, reportedly due to hectic work schedules and an unexplained misunderstanding that escalated into romantic apocalypse. And speaking of singles, Singles magazine features an interview with Chuno's Oh Ji Ho which seems to cover familiar territory: his thoughts on transitioning from romantic leading man to hard-assed hunted slave roles, and why on Earth is that man still single. Now for a brief photoshoot break: Park Shin Hye (You're Beautiful) looks cute and colorful for in a makeup spread for Etude, and Yoon Eun Hye looks freaking weird in some kinda scary pics for clothing brand Elbon. Did you secretly hate the title of Kim So Yeon's new drama Prosecutor Mata Hari? You're not alone--the show's name has changed to Prosecutor Princess, downplaying the espionage-ish office politics and underlining the perkiness of Kim's character. So Ji Sub is permanently subbing for Jang Dong Gun (All About Eve) as the new face of casual men's clothing line Giordano. Coffee Prince's Gong Yoo and international everything star Rain face off in a battle of the hotties in the March issue of Cosmo Men. Members of Kim Hyun Joong's fan club are putting all that passion to a good cause. In what is being called a first for any fan club, the group has created a special scholarship fund to help deserving students with tuition and other school-related costs. If you're easily dazed by amazing abs, you'll want to skip the new Calvin Klein underwear spread starring Dong Yi's Bae Soo Bin. And finally, some lovely new pics of Han Chae Young doing some wired acting for the weird-sounding internet film The Influence, in which her character is kept in an icebox for a hundred years...for love.
