FLOWER POWER: China builds world's largest bouquet
The world’s largest flower bouquet has been built in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. Officials announced that rather than use real flowers, it would save money by constructing enormous artificial flowers for the bouquet. So believe it or not, this display is part of a new campaign to limit extravagance in government spending.
The bouquet was built for China's National Day, which marks the founding of the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1, 1949 and is a whopping 18 meters tall, with a diameter of 15 meters.
