Thursday, April 7, catch a free screening of the new documentary ANNA MAY WONG: IN HER OWN WORDS, compliments of Target, at the Museum of Chinese in America (MoCA) in New York City. The film screening is part of Target Free Thursdays at MoCA.
Anna May Wong (1905-1961) was a premier Chinese American film star and stage actress who achieved worldwide fame and popularity in the 1920s and the 1930s. Directed by Yunah Hong, an award-winning filmmaker in New York City, Anna May Wong: In Her Own Words is an hour long documentary about how a Chinese laundryman’s daughter became an international movie star, a member of high society, an activist and an artist despite the racism and sexism of her time.
