Go inside the bootcamp that helps addicts kick their Internet habit
If you have an Internet addiction, the good news is that the Chinese government will help you kick it. The bad news is that you'll have to go to a bootcamp to do so. The Chinese government has officially stated that they believe an Internet addiction is a psychological illness, and to try and fix the problem, they have constructed almost 250 bootcamps.
The camps are a way for people to go cold turkey from the Internet and also serve as a way for individuals to immerse themselves in social situations. While we could all probably use an Internet detox, the bootcamps go much farther as they push attendees into doing rigorous exercises and military training. Attendees even get their brains scanned.
There have been reports of people in the camps trying to break out and escape, so maybe think twice before you decide it's a good time to check one out.
