Godzilla terrorizes in Tokyo homecoming
Godzilla moved to America a few years ago, in 2013, to star in another one of his Hollywood movies. This summer, he's been visiting Japan, where he was born and raised, and he's been popping up all over the place.
The hometown monster is back! To promote his own summer American blockbuster, Godzilla made his way back home to Japan this month. Making the most out of his short trip, he's been showing up everywhere, and everyone in Japan has been welcoming their favorite export with pride and open arms.
After a stop in Nagoya, where he tore through a wall at Nagoya station to grab hold of a giant mannequin, he's now in Tokyo. He's been seen in a few locations, but he's leaving quite the impression at a park in Roppongi, one of Tokyo's most popular nightlife districts. The model of him here is 6.6 meters tall, about 20 feet, and is only from his chest up, with his head sticking out of the ground. Despite the small size (compared to how big he really is), he is made in proportion, making up one-seventh of his actual height. After 7PM, he gets lit up, with mist and sound effects taking place every 30 minutes until 9:30.
As you can see, It's been quite a homecoming.
