Jang Tae Yoo, the director of the extremely popular My Love From Another Star recently shared some surprising thoughts in an interview with Chinese media. It's a mixture of good news and bad news for the fans.

First, the good news is that Jang Tae Yoo has a lot of ideas for a sequel or even prequels. He says there are many stories that can be told about Do Min Joon's time during the Joseon dynasty era, the Japanese occupation, and even during the 1970s.

Jang gives a score of 9.5 out 10 for Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun's performance. In his view, the two actors completely expressed their respective characters' unique charisma. Jeon Ji Hyun is already a bright and open person and she acted in character. Kim Soo Hyun delivered a mature performance that is far above his age.

He is pleasantly surprised by the fantastic reception that My Love From Another Star has received in China. He further says that he likes watching Chinese drama too, and there are things that Korean drama and Chinese drama can learn from each other. Chinese dramas excel in historical subjects and costumes, while Korean dramas excel in modern drama productions. He has already received some offers for joint collaboration from Chinese TV channels and looks forward to working together.

Now here is the bad news:

Because Jeon Ji Hyun has expressed her desire to take a break and enjoy her family life (have a baby?) and Kim Soo Hyun may have to start his military service, there is speculation that Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi will be played by other actors. (Oh no!!! I can already hear the fans screaming.) The director didn't confirm or deny this speculation. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
