Kim Bum's Hidden Identity breaks records for a tvN premiere
The series, which follows a special group of undercover police officers as they fight violent crime, premiered yesterday in Korea with an average rating of 2.3% and a high of 3%, which is the best premiere ever for a tvN drama.
Now, 3% might sound low, but we have to remember that this is a cable series, which generally reaches a much smaller viewership than the big Korean networks. As a comparison, tvN's smash hit Misaeng premiered at 1.6% before building momentum to an almost unheard-of average of 8.24% for the finale.
It's no surprise that viewers were drawn to Hidden Identity. Not only does it boast Kim Bum's comeback to Korean dramas after two years doing projects in China, but it also has a strong team of actors, including Yoon So Yi, Park Sung Woong, and Lee Won Jung. This series also comes from the writer/director team behind Bad Guys, which did well on OCN last year.
