Hiker uncovers abandoned Japanese schoolhouse through series of haunting images
A hiker recently traveling through the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan discovered an old school abandoned in the 1970's that was remarkably mostly still intact. The traveler took a series of photos documenting the abandoned school and the pictures show many parts of the building still in shockingly good shape.
The school is located near the top of a mountain and consists of a primary building with two separate classrooms. There is also an office in the building and many of the items that were photographed seemed to be fully functioning.
The traveler also took a video of the school and you can see all of the building's old classroom items in the photos like a mirror, ping-pong table, newspapers, soccer ball and a school clock. It's a compelling look into what life must have been like at the majestic mountaintop school.
