How do South Korean celebrities shower their parents with gifts?
South Korean stars bring the "wow" factor when it comes to giving gifts to their beloved parents. Birthdays and Christmas are fantastic days for their moms and dads to be showered with presents beyond their wildest dreams. Who needs a fairy godmother when you have generous celebrity kids?
Seo In Guk and SHINee's Onew and Taemin stand out among the crowd as the best gift givers. They gave their loved ones a coffee shop, cars, and even a house!
The Kings Face actor set up a coffee shop for his hardworking mother. Seo talked about his sweet gift last year on an episode of KBS's talk show Happy Together: “After my debut, my mother continued to take really difficult jobs like picking up waste paper. It was always on my mind, so I bought a coffee shop for her," he said. "I think it was the best thing I have done all my life.”
He desired to spend more time with his dad too, so he even goes shopping with him when he can.
In 2010, SHINee's leader Onew gushed about purchasing a car for his dad on an episode of KBS's short-lived variety series Nocturnal.. “I bought my father a car with the money I first made... It was a midsize vehicle. My father hasn't had a car in 10 years. So, I presented him with one." Two years later, he even admitted he was saving to give them a house.
Taemin beat his fellow SHINee member by buying his family a house in an upscale neighborhood and a foreign car. "I bought my parents a house in the Cheongdamdong [neighborhood] and an imported car," the "Pretty Boy" singer shared on MBC’s variety talk show Radio Star in 2012.
What are you planning to give mom and dad this year? Does it compare to these celebrity gifts?
