If you spend your Valentine's Day at a Shanghai movie theater, chances are you're going to spend your romantic night out with a complete stranger. A group of netizens, who are most likely single, are staging an elaborate Valentine's Day prank at a movie theater. The group organized through a crowd funding site to reserve every other seat in a movie theater so that couples will not be able sit together during a screening of Beijing Love Story.

The organizer, who posts under the name "UP" and describes himself as a computer nerd who recently broke up with his girlfriend, said, "Want to see a movie on Valentine’s Day? Sorry, you’ll have to sit separately. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Give us singles a chance.”

It's a pretty hilarious prank, and we hope that instead of actually sitting in between the couples during the movie, they just put blowup dolls in their place.
