IN PHOTOS: Japanese artist recreates Pokémon as totally realistic animals
Even if you're one of those people that don't play, or even understand what Pokémon GO really is, there's no doubt that the game has somehow made its way into your life. So just for kicks, take a look at one Japanese artist's recreations of Pocket Monsters if they were animals in real life. According to fans, these recreations are the best that's ever been done.
Actually created a few years ago, Japanese artist totomame's stunning recreations of Pocket Monsters as if they were real animals are once again catching attention, thanks of course to the current Pokémon GO craze all over the world. If you go to his artist's page, you can see more of his awesome work, which includes Pokémon that aren't included below, and also many of his non-Pokémon-related pieces. But it looks like the Pokémon animals are what people all over the world are loving. At the top of totomame's page, right under his profile, is a message from the artist apologizing for not being able to accept requests or do any type of commissioned work at this time. I imagine he's getting bombarded by Pokémon everywhere, asking him to recreate their favorite little monsters.
Below are a selected number of Pokémon as real-life animals, as created by totomame. Happy training!
