Korean artist bends reality with amazing optical illusions
Another talented artist has caught the attention of international media through photos of their creations on social media. Dai Yoon, a 22-year-old makeup and visual artist from Seoul, Korea, has been posting hand-painted watercolor optical illusions on her Instagram and Facebook, and her work is mind-bending.
Currently a student at the Korean National University of Arts, Dai Yoon is already creating waves with her unique talent. Calling her work "illusion art," Dai paints on her subject's bodies with watercolor, creating optical illusions by mixing in elements of the human body, most notably with her own face and hands, with its surroundings. According to an interview she gave Dailymail in England, she said she started painting on people because of their multidimensional characteristics. "The interesting point of my artwork is that people can find something new and tricky when they look into my artwork over and over."
When you look at her work, you'll know exactly what Dai is talking about, as just one look at her photos is surely not enough to appreciate this young woman's creativity. Her imagination, along with her talents as a painter, will have you rubbing your eyes in disbelief.
