If this is how turtles will look in the future, it's both scary and exciting. An Indonesian artist named Ono Gaf recently constructed a massive steampunk turtle using thousands of pieces of leftover metal.

Even though Gaf used junk parts like gears, blades, and rotors, the turtle sculpture manages to look utterly complete and majestic. As the photos reveal, up close the turtle sculpture looks rusty, rough, and abstract, but when you step back and take the whole piece in, it's completely magical.

In fact, I would not be surprised to see several of these futuristic-looking turtles in the next big science fiction movie. The artist also shows us that you truly can make art out of just about anything.
