Instead of corruption, village government shares $2 million with its residents
When the word “bonus” is uttered in the media, usually the thought of corruption immediately crosses the mind, but instead in a Jianshe village in Lianshan Yi prefecture, Sichuan province, there is a feeling of gratitude in hundreds of villagers towards their government.
Jianshe village became prosperous for piloting a land circulation project, which introduced a new farming company and an investment company to the area. The pilot required the villagers to be on board, so as a big thank you, the government of Jianshe village shared about 13.11 million yuan (US $2.17 million) in bonuses with the 340 households in the village on Jan 14, 2014. One household received 314,000 yuan (about US $5,200).
I mean, just look at this wall of money!
