Italian man gets arrested after kissing Japanese woman as a greeting
To be fair, every culture has its own unique way of saying "hello." In America, some guys get drunk and say "hi" by bumping chests into each other, and those are the guys who usually end up saying "hi" to a police officer later on.
With that being said, you should always try and respect the customs of the culture that you're visiting or living in. And an Italian man recently learned that lesson the hard way after he greeted a 21-year-old Japanese woman by kissing her on the face.
The incident occurred on the JR Kisei train line between the Iwashiro and Minabe stations in Japan. The 40-year-old Italian man was taken into custody by Kobo Precinct police and was honestly surprised that the authorities got involved in the situation. Details about whether or not the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs have not been released.
