A collaboration of epic (depending on who you ask) proportions  just took place in Japan, where Justin Bieber wrapped up filming a television commercial with none other than Piko Taro, the Japanese comic sensation. With both entertainers being fans of each other's work, it was the first time the two actually met in person, and when you watch the behind-the-scenes footage, it looks like they definitely had some fun.

After all, it was more or less Justin Bieber who introduced Piko Taro to the world with one tweet, when he shared the video of "PPAP" to his more than 91 million followers on Twitter. By calling the hilarious "Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen," his favorite video on the internet, the world learned of the comic genius of Piko Taro, quickly making him the newest international viral star. This fact is not lost on the crazy Japanese comedian himself, who acknowledges Justin's role in his success.

As fate would have it, the two recently met for the very first time to shoot a TV commercial for Japanese telecommunications giant SoftBank. With Piko Taro having shot a few ads for them already, and Justin Bieber having signed on just recently, the stage was set for the two global stars to join forces and appear together on an ad for student-discounted mobile phone plans. In it, Piko Taro plays a teacher, and Justin is his student. The commercial has yet to air, so no details yet on what exactly takes place, but you can see the teaser video below, which was uploaded just yesterday on YouTube.

Piko Taro looks genuinely happy, and Justin Bieber looks pretty excited, too. After all, it's not every day that you get to work with your idols.
