Whether or not we like to admit it, it's nice to be number one. So given the fact that the U.S.-based company FutureBrand recently named Japan as the number one brand in the world, the country has to be feeling pretty good right about now. 

The company based their study on public perception of 75 nations, particularly in the areas of business, technology, education, health, and culture. Japan had the most positive perceptions in its business potential, quality of life, and heritage.

The country also scored high for its association with top-notch consumer products. This is the first time that Japan has finished at the top of the FutureBrand list, and it comes at a particularly good time given that the country will play host to the 2020 Summer Olympics.
