New Yorkers who love the madness of Japanese game shows will want to be at the Bell House in Brooklyn on Thursday, November 4th, for a night of live comedy and crazy challenges, complete with wrestlers, musicians and Golden Girls impersonators. Super Japanese Game Show Melee is the third "episode" of a series started at Japan Society this Spring, and continued at this year's New York Anime Festival. The show, hosted by comedian Kenji America, pits 3 teams of performers against each other in a series of competitions inspired by Japanese game shows. This time, the teams include The Golden Girls (Ann Carr, Rob Gorden, John Kelly and David Hodorowski), Brooklyn indie pop stars Bridges and Powerlines, and the returning champion, female wrestler Amazon Annie and her Lobos Locas! Tickets are $10, and advance purchase is strongly recommended (more info here, Facebook page here). Check out the video here for a preview of the fun!
