Kim Go Eun and Lee Dong Wook may star alongside Gong Yoo in DOTS writer’s new drama Goblin
Actress Kim Go Eun (Cheese in the Trap) and actor Lee Dong Wook (Blade Man, Bubblegum) are in talks to join actor Gong Yoo (Train to Busan, Coffee Prince) in Goblin (tentatively titled). The new fantasy drama is by Kim Eun Sook, the screenwriter behind hits such as Descendants of the Sun and Secret Garden.
In the upcoming drama, Gong Yoo will take on the role of a goblin that wishes to end his immortal life. In order to end his eternal life, he must marry a human bride. In a twist of fate or curse, the goblin lives with a grim reaper who has amnesia. Kim Go Eun is considering the role as the bride the goblin is in search of, and Lee Dong Wook is in discussion to play the grim reaper.
It’ll be particular exciting if Kim Go Eun accepts the role as Gong Yoo’s love interest. Back in February while he promoted his film A Man and a Woman, when the actor was asked in an interview which actress he would like to work with, he had answered with Kim Go Eun, citing that he thought she was charming and that he enjoyed her work in the film Chinatown.
This romantic, supernatural tvN drama will be Gong Yoo’s return to the small screen since his last drama four years ago, Big.
Goblin is scheduled to air in November.
