Kim Hyun Joong has recently donated $100,000 to the victims of the April 20th earthquake that hit Ya'an, China where over 13,000 people were injured and 200 people died. This is not the first time the current Barefoot Friends
star has done charitable deeds; during the 2011 Japan earthquake he also donated the same amount.
The One Foundation, based in China, posted about the donation on its Weibo page (translated):
Korean artist Kim Hyun Joong has donated one hundred million won ($100,000.) to the One Foundation for the Ya’an earthquake reconstruction, and hopes to send his blessings to the people of Ya’an through the One Foundation. The donation has already been made and confirmed, and we thank our Korean friend Kim Hyun Joong for his support of Ya’an. The One Foundation will carefully make good use of the money, and to quote Kim Hyun Joong’s words to everyone: Bless Ya’an!
The organization was founded in 2007 by Jet Li and exists as the first private charitable fundraising organization in China.
