Jang Song-thaek reportedly executed by hungry dogs in North Korea
It has been reported, although unconfirmed, that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered his uncle-in-law, Jang Song-thaek, to be executed by dogs. Furthermore, he forced his wife and government officials to watch the dogs eat his uncle-in-law.
Jang Song-thaek's fall from political power was swift. He was publicly expelled from the ruling Workers Party of Korea on December 9th, then was convicted of treason on December 12th and immediately executed on December 13th. Although the official announcement did not mention how he was executed, the usual execution method would have been death by machine gun or small cannon fire.
However, unconfirmed reports say that Jang and his five aides were stripped naked and put into a cage with 120 ravenous dogs that had been kept hungry for 3 days. Kim Jun-un, his wife Ri Sol-ju, and over 300 top officials watched the entire process, which took over one hour.
Perhaps it is worth mentioning again that in the 2700-word statement of Jang's conviction, he was described as the "despicable human scum Jang, who was worse than a dog, perpetrated thrice-cursed acts of treachery in betrayal of such profound trust and warmest paternal love shown by the party and the leader for him." It is still inconceivable that such a cruel and crude method of execution exists in the 21st century.
