Kim Myung Min will play the the famous mountain climber Um Hong Gil in the upcoming movie Himalayas. While the title is tentative for now, the story is based on the true story of Um Hong Gil who climbed Mount Everest in 2005 to retrieve the body of his friend, the late Park Moo Taek. Director Kang Dae Gyu of Harmony will be leading the production under JK Film which previously released Haeundae, Dancing Queen and Quick. A source revealed that Kim Myung Min took on the project because "it is based on a touching true story." Production will take place in Nepal to capture shots of the snowy mountains of the world's highest mountain peak.
