While I hope Lee Min Ho is added to a cultural heritage list someday, it is delicious news that UNESCO added Korea's "Kimjang: Making and Sharing Kimchi" to its World Intangible Cultural Heritage list late last year.

Remember in Boys Over Flowers when Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Min Ho) visited Geum Jan Di's home and participated in their kimchi making? Jan Di's family prepared their own kimchi from cabbages and radishes. He tried some of their homemade kimchi and thought it tasted great.

As you can see from his very cute facial expression:

Apparently UNESCO agrees with Goo Joon Pyo, and has added Kimchi to its World Intangible Cultural Heritage list. There are over 300 different kimchi varieties with spicy cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi being the most common. Since Korean families each add different seasonings and ingredients when making kimchi, the kimchi from each family comes out with unique flavors.

Here's how Jan Di's family makes kimchi from scratch:

By the way, this hilarious kimchi-making sequence took place in episode 9 of Boys Over Flowers.
