Lady Gaga announces she will use virtual singer Hatsune Miku as her opening act
In Lady Gaga's upcoming North American tour, the singer plans on using the popular Japanese virtual singer Hatsune Miku as the opening act. The virtual singer will appear with Lady Gaga as part of her “Lady Gaga’s Artrave: The Artpop Ball Tour" from May 6 through June 13 in 16 different locations.
The first venue where Hatsune Miku will make an appearance is Atlanta’s Philips Arena, and it's worth noting that the singer has appeared in 3DCG concerts before.
The move is not that surprising since Lady Gaga has a history of eclectic experimental artistic tastes. It will remain to be seen if the popular Japanese virtual singer will translate with North American audiences, and while we don't have the answer, either way it's going to be fun to watch.
