Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won consider reuniting after 12 years for cable romcom
The K-drama reunions continue! Not only have Kill Me, Heal Me's Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon confirmed that they will be playing love interests in the upcoming series She Was Pretty, but now Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won are considering a K-drama reunion of their own for the tvN series Bubblegum.
Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won have played love interests before, but it was twelve years ago on the 2003 sitcom Do The Right Thing, where they had a 10-episode romance until Lee Dong Wook took his leave of the show. This time around, they're considering making their cable debut together on tvN.
Bubblegum is about Park Ri Hwan (Lee Dong Wook), a selfless hospital director who cares for his mother and always puts the needs of others ahead of his own. Jung Ryeo Won would play Kim Haeng Ah, a clumsy and impatient radio DJ. The story has been described as a modern fairytale about two people who find happiness together.
Although some media outlets reported that the actors had confirmed their roles, a representative from tvN clarified that they are both in the "positively considering" phase. Bubblegum will be directed by Kim Byung Soo, who previously worked on Nine, Queen In Hyun's Man, and Three Musketeers. It is tentatively scheduled to follow Cheese in the Trap in December or January.
