Lee Jong Suk considers lead in upcoming KBS drama Beautiful Mind
Calling all Lee Jong Suk fans! The actor is currently considering an offer to lead the upcoming KBS drama Beautiful Mind (previously called Dr. Frankenstein) as his follow-up project to the popular series Pinocchio.
Beautiful Mind is about a genius neurosurgeon (because how can you have a K-drama without a "genius" something-or-other?) who has a frontal lobe disorder that prevents him from experiencing emotion. As a result, his gorgeous, talented exterior hides a lonely and dangerous personality. The series has also been described as a multiple-personality drama (because how can you have a K-drama with only one personality?), but the details of the multiple personalities are unclear. The series will be written by Kim Tae Hee (Sungkyunkwan Scandal), and the time slot for the series has not been set.
Back when it was called Dr. Frankenstein, Kim Soo Hyun and Yoo Ah In both turned down the leading role. The series was shelved for a while, but now it's back, and a casting offer has been given to Lee Jong Suk. Lee Jong Suk's agency confirmed that he was considering the offer, saying, "It is true that he received an offer from Beautiful Mind. However, his appearance has not been confirmed. It is one among multiple projects that [he] is considering."
