Lee Sung Kyung discussed her newfound popularity and the impossibility of being in a relationship with W Magazine on April 3, 2017, just weeks before news broke that she is in a confirmed relationship with Nam Joo Hyuk

Lee Sung Kyung’s road to fame has been a relatively easy ride. The It's Okay, That's Love director, who was looking for a new face, fell for her instantly and immediately casted her. Since then, she's played supporting roles in Cheese in the Trap and Doctor Crush and the lead role in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.

However, Lee Sung Kyung recently revealed that even fame has its downside:

“Being in the public eye, you never really have time to yourself. Even when you’re alone, you feel that everyone is watching you and you can’t ever get away from them,” Lee Sung Kyung said, explaining she had traveled to Paris to have time alone and heal after finishing Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.

Now that she's famous, she can no longer spend time outside.

“If I just walk around with friends, it escalates into scandal and rumors, so I’m more cautious about what I do now,” she said.

On questions of love, she said “(having a boyfriend is) impossible given the tabloids” in a resigned voice, according to W. "There have been rumors associating me with relationships I've never been in. I feel as though I've been through those relationships already so I don’t have to go through them again.”

What do you think of Lee Sung Kyung’s interview with W? Do you blame her for hiding her relationship?
