Magical exhibit made of 65,000 suspended watch plates
This holiday season, the most spectacular light display has nothing to do with Christmas and everything to do with watches. Tsuyoshi Tane is a Paris-based architect, and he is also the creator of a stunning illuminated installation called "Light is Time."
The new exhibit features 65,000 watch base plates suspended in mid-air, and Tsuyoshi Tane created this magnificent display with Japanese watch company Citizen. From now until November 28, the installation will be on display at Spiral in Tokyo.
The designer talked abut the inspiration for the exhibit: "From beyond the horizon, the rising Sun slowly covers Earth in light, shadows transform into different shapes, the seasons transit colours in nature, and the waxing and waning of the Moon changes. When humanity noticed these things, we unknowingly created the concept of time.”
