Mark Chao's fame has seen an explosive boost ever since fans fell in love with his Crown Prince Ye Hua in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (aka Eternal Love), which is his first drama series filmed in China. The popularity has been reflected in his growing Weibo social media following and the frenzy among fans whenever he appears. He was almost trampled in the latest incident.

Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms has smashed viewing records and become the most viewed drama series in China's history. When the fantasy romance was still on air in March, Mark Chao's Weibo following surpassed 10 million for the first time. Now, it's over 12 million strong. (A toast to you, Prince Ye Hua!)

Fame does come with a price, and in Mark Chao's case, his fans could get out of control.

Just recently when he appeared in an airport, fans swarmed all around him and almost trampled him. His shoe even got kicked off.

In these photos, you can see him putting his shoe back on while maintaining his polite demeanor with a smile the whole time.

No wonder he is now referred to as the new Nanshen (Male God) by Chinese fans.

Have you watched Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms starring Yang Mi and Mark Chao? Fans are certain that it is the most enthralling fantasy romance ever and deserves to be watched again and again:
